Pacific Beach United Methodist Church members enjoy many opportunities for education and fellowship.

Coffee Fellowship

The friendliness of Pacific Beach UMC begins with coffee and cookies. As worship ends, we’ll put a hot cup in your hands and begin to get acquainted. Visiting time spills out into our courtyard as people catch up with each other on the events of the week. 

Lunch Bunch

We’ve figured out which restaurants in San Diego can accommodate a large group of people with no reservation. Most Sundays at least one group goes direct from worship to lunch. (More than one person has been known to say, “That’s the best part of church!”)
Educational Opportunities Both short- and long-term Bible study groups allow people to get to know one another in the course of studying the scripture. Classes for all ages meet on Sunday mornings and at other times during the week. Recent offerings include classes on the history of the Bible and Christianity. For information on current offerings, contact the church.

	Children and Families Families are drawn together by the children’s Christmas play, the nursery & Sunday School program, the Easter egg hunt, and the occasional backyard picnic. The children like to sit together in the front row during worship.

Dinners for Seven Interested members are divided into groups of seven and over a period of four months, they meet monthly for a meal and fellowship. Whether a simple dinner in a member's home, or a potluck in the park, Dinners for Seven is a great way to get to know other church members.

San Diego is a Great Place to Live! 

Hiking, whale-watching, Padre games, movies, theater, local festivities--we enjoy it all. We frequently get together for excursions. Members, friends, and guests are all welcome to attend. 

United Methodist Women

Two groups with a distinguished history meet on a monthly basis. The first and third Tuesday of each month find women gathering at the church at 10 a.m. for a program and a sack lunch. 

United Methodist Men

Each Saturday morning at 9 a.m., men of the church gather for donuts, coffee, Bible Study, and prayer. Every summer, when PB UMC worships outside (4th of July and Labor Day) the men barbeque hot dogs and burgers. They are also famous for their Easter morning pancake breakfast. 

Special Events

We love an excuse to celebrate. Our social hall seats 100 for meals, and by using the courtyard we can seat almost twice that many. At least once or twice a year we have a big party. 

True Colors Picnic

We celebrated the installation of our new stained glass with an all-church picnic! Ted T. organized the affair with its fantastic catered food, and Mark V. livened things up with lots of fun games for young and old alike. A few pictures sum up the fun and fellowship that blessed our time together.
