Pride Report 2007

Each year, San Diego is host to a gay pride parade and festival that draws over 100,000 people. Once again this year, our faithful float-builder Mark V., with the help of a small but dedicated group of volunteers, assembled a beautiful float for the parade. The theme of this year's float was "Eagle's Wings," based on the song that we sing at the end of every service:

And God will raise you up on eagle's wings
Bear you on the breath of dawn
Make you to shine like the sun
And hold you in the palm of God's hands

Our presence in the parade bears concrete witness to God's (and PB UMC's) welcome of all people, regardless of sexual orientation!
